How to manage your off-peak sessions for maximum growth…
There’s nothing better than a fun-filled Fitness Studio that’s bustling with happy clients. More often than not this happens first thing in the morning and late afternoon. These are often the most lucrative and busy times for Fitness Studios, but is there anything we can do to liven up the quieter ‘in-betweeny’ times?
According to Alex Hormozi the #1 reason that Gyms and Fitness Studios aren’t profitable… is that your quieter ‘off-peak’ times are stopping you from growing. It doesn’t matter how many members you have if they all turn up at the same time your Fitness Studio will only accommodate so many.
So how do you start increasing your profits and start making these quieter times a thing of the past? well here are two of Alex’s key tactics…
Rethink Unlimited Memberships
Most Fitness Studios offer unlimited memberships. This gives clients complete flexibility to train whenever they want. Rather than providing an unlimited membership, think about your fitness classes as commodities. Your classes are providing great results and whilst an unlimited membership may sound awesome, it may not be so good for you. Think about how many times a week a member should realistically expect to attend your Fitness Studio to get the results they’re looking for?
Don’t ever undervalue yourself, think about memberships that provide 1, 2, or 3 visits per week. This will help you to frame your classes as a valuable commodity, and one that will deliver the desired results your clients expect. It’ll also stop those odd few clients from booking every class you have, just in case, they feel like popping in.
Creating memberships that restrict the number of sessions that can be attended each week is super easy. And according to Alex, doing this one thing can help you to double the capacity of your facility.
Rethink ‘Come Whenever’
At the moment you’re probably letting your clients pick and choose the times that suit them, which is great if you want to keep those busy times busy. But what about those quieter times, how can we start balancing our numbers?
Think about promoting your quieter class as more ‘one-on-one’ time. Change your client’s perception of your quieter ‘day classes’, as classes where they’ll get the most of your time. Create an off-peak, most desirable workout attitude.
What this does is it actually changes the value of your classes. So if your clients want the most convenient times, they’re going to get the least amount of your one-on-one attention. If they want the most one-on-one attention, they’ll come at the least desirable times. This change of perception will help to even your class numbers across your day.
